WORK WITH US TO HELP TACKLE LOW PAY IN SCOTLAND
The Living Wage has been one of the most successful civil society campaigns in Scotland and the UK in recent years. Not only has it won cross party political support, and gained increased acceptance amongst employers, it has also delivered tangible benefits for thousands of workers.
We are now looking to further expand the work of the Scottish Living Wage Accreditation Initiative to support more employers to pay the Living Wage in the North East of Scotland. This post will be the first to be based outside our head office in Glasgow and is located in the Dundee Council offices. There will be regular travel to Glasgow and likely travel around the North East (Dundee, Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.) for which travel expenses will be provided.
The Living Wage Accreditation Officer Post is 35 hours per week and is a 1 year fixed term contract. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
Working remotely with the rest of the team - namely, the Progamme Manager, three other Living Wage Accreditation Officers and two Administrative Assistants, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that more employers and workers benefit from the Living Wage in the North East of Scotland. The Accreditation Officer will be responsible for engaging with employers in the North East of Scotland – private sector, public and third sector- and contributing to the development and updating of materials relevant to the projects aims (case studies, web materials, articles, promotional resources, etc).
The post of Living Wage Accreditation Officer will suit an individual who not only has excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in engaging with employers, but also a strong commitment to the struggle for social justice and a desire to tackle in-work poverty.
