Living Wage Week


Living Wage Week takes place in the first week of November each year and we would love you to get involved by organising an event to celebrate the Living Wage and your accreditation as a Living Wage employer. 

We want to recognise the fantastic work being done across Scotland to tackle in-work poverty and low pay and to celebrate the successes of businesses who are accredited Living Wage employers.

From writing a blog post on how the Living Wage has impacted your business, or the impact it has had on your employees, to hosting an event to get other employers involved, we can help you plan and deliver this during Living Wage Week.

If you are an accredited Living Wage employer, you will be receiving a digital pack detailing how to get involved in promoting the Living Wage through social media.

Outside of our activity on the web, we have employers hosting business breakfasts and networking events to get other employers involved in paying the Living Wage.


Here are some examples of ways you can get involved!


Living Wage Lunch – ask staff to sign up and bring in a dish which everyone shares. Everyone can then donate the money they would normally have spent on lunch.

Promotional events – ways to celebrate your accreditation

Host a LW Business Breakfast – invite other businesses in your area, particularly ones you do business with, to a breakfast on the Living Wage to discuss e.g. the benefits and process of accreditation or the difference between the Living Wage and the NMW.

Organise a photo call displaying the new Living Wage rate in a creative way. Ideally the photo would display the new rate along with your products / services / staff / logo. Extra points if the “We Are A Living Wage” logo is also in the photo.


Blog – write a blog describing your experience with Living Wage accreditation (the response from staff/customers, effects you’ve seen on the business etc).
