SecuriGroup are a Recognised Service Provider. The Recognised Service Provider scheme is designed to enable employers in the service industries to gain recognition for their commitment to increasing the uptake of the real Living Wage in their industry.
Why we chose to be a recognised service provider
SecuriGroup, as a leading Security Provider has been at the forefront of this movement by becoming an accredited Recognised Service Provider not long after the Foundation began. As we celebrate this 5 year milestone we want to reflect on the positive influence it has had on our people and community.
Becoming an accredited Recognised Service Provider aligns with our core purpose of strengthening society and our commitment to supporting our people. The Living Wage means our people receive a fair wage for their valuable contributions which helps to support life outside of work and well-being.
The living wage benefits both our people and organisation. When people receive fair pay they feel valued, motivated and empowered with a sense of security and stability leading to higher job satisfaction. This in turn contributes to a positive workplace and sets an example for other businesses in our industry.
We believe that paying a fair wage is not only the right thing to do but a crucial step in building a better future for our people and community.
How we have found the last 5 years in the scheme
The vast majority of our contracts pay the Living Wage or higher with progress continuing over the last five years. We’ve enjoyed assisting a host of clients to become Living Wage accredited and expect this to increase higher over the next 12 months. We have been delighted to assist with these transitions, with our staff-first initiatives and expert staff-led technology solutions delivering advancement in security solutions across the UK and Ireland.
Quote from Commercial Director Elliot Husband:
“As a Living Wage Recognised Service Provider for the past five years, we have witnessed first-hand the transformative power of fair compensation. By valuing and investing in our people, we have cultivated a dedicated, motivated and empowered team.
The positive impact on our organisation’s culture and productivity has been truly remarkable. We are proud of the strides we have made in the past 5 years and will continue to champion fair wages knowing that by doing so we are not only enriching the lives of our people but also driving the success and sustainability of the business.”
Quote from Managing Director Russel Kerr:
“As the Managing Director, witnessing the journey of the past 5 years as a RSP has been incredibly rewarding. Seeing the positive impact on people’s lives, their families and the communities we operate in has been truly inspiring.
Our people are not only our best asset but the heartbeat to our organisation. Our commitment to the Living Wage has propelled us forward, attracting top talent and building strong relationships with our stakeholders.”
Why is it important for our industry
Quote from Security Guard John Parry:
“I’ve found that the transition to a Living Wage has been crucial for me, especially living in London where costs continue to rise. I truly believe that it makes me feel more valued and appreciated, and it also shows that the company I work for has strong ethics and morals. In addition, given the complexity of my job in security, it’s reassuring to feel that my efforts are recognised and that I’m valued for the constant attention and vigilance that is required of me.”
The positive feedback from many of our clients has led to an increasing number of clients coming on board with this important initiative. Many clients have witnessed the tangible benefits and positive impact the Living Wage has on employee wellbeing and organisations.
Our commitment over the past 5 years has sparked positive change in the security industry. We have seen a shift in the industry with more companies re-evaluating their practices and embracing the living wage. We are proud to have played a role in this transformation and are committed to pushing further to empower security professionals across the board.
