We’re continuing to bring you uplifting stories of good work and kindness from our Accredited Living Wage Employers #InThisTogether.
Glasgow cycling charity Bike for Good are giving free bike loans to key workers, free route planning, and providing a free bike delivery service of care packages to vulnerable people.
The charity are lending their fleet of bikes to key workers, such as Frances (pictured), so that she can safely get to work without relying on public transport. They’re also providing tailored virtual route calls on Zoom with a cycle specialist, to help people new to cycling get to work safely. Community groups have also benefitted from the free delivery service of care packages.
Head of Community Outreach Victoria Leiper said:
“We had to figure out a way to support our community during these unprecedented and scary times. Our usual programme of Community Outreach activities has been postponed until the crisis is over, but we have a team of passionate and kind staff who want to lend a hand wherever they can. So far, our offering has been very well received, and we are continuing to adapt it as the situation continues.”
