Social enterprises are independent businesses who aim to make a profit like any private sector business. However, their profits are reinvested back into their social and/or environmental purpose. Social enterprise is an ethical and more sustainable way of doing business, aiming to make a fairer society and a more inclusive economy.
Social Enterprise Scotland (SES) is the voice of social enterprise in Scotland. They are an independent, membership-led organisation who champion, support and unite the social enterprise movement in Scotland.
The Social Enterprise Awards Scotland, run by SES, celebrate the incredible work and impact of social enterprises across the country. The awards are an opportunity to showcase the very best of the sector, highlighting the agility, ability and active role that social enterprises play in building places, supporting communities and making a positive impact on our environment and wellbeing.
We are delighted to see so many Living Wage accredited finalists on the shortlist and we wish them all the best of luck!
The awards ceremony on November 1st will be a hybrid event with a reception at the Scottish Parliament and a digital celebration.
