People’s Postcode Lottery has become a Living Wage Employer. With its players having raised over £700 million for charities and good causes, People’s Postcode Lottery aims to be at the heart of positive change – something that’s reflected in its core values. With over 380 team members, working across a variety of roles, fairness and equality are central to its mission and that’s why achieving the Living Wage Employer accreditation is so important.
Clara Govier, managing director said:
“Being accredited as a real Living Wage Employer is brilliant as we are an organisation that values and believes in our team. We have chosen to seek this voluntary accreditation as a way to demonstrate this commitment further and we will proudly display our Living Wage Employer Mark.”
Nick Grassick, office and site manager received great feedback from Abubekr Elmubarak, a contractor with Profile Security. Abubkekr said:
“I have enjoyed working at People’s Postcode Lottery since day one, and always felt that the service I provide on behalf of my company is being appreciated as well as being treated like one of their actual team all the time. Being paid above the Living Wage of £9.50 per hour while working at the lottery has helped me a lot to cover general life’s expenses, reduced the stress of saving some money for the bad days and positively impacted my mental health during this unprecedented time. This indicates that People’s Postcode Lottery is an organisation that values its workers and that is something I am sincerely grateful for.”
Lynn Anderson, Living Wage Scotland Manager said:
“We are delighted to welcome People’s Postcode Lottery to the Living Wage movement.
We are a movement of over 1900 Scottish employers who together want to go further than the government minimum to make sure that everyone can earn a decent standard of living and families have what they need to thrive. Our network includes lots of smaller employers as well as larger and iconic Scottish employers like SSE, Standard Life Aberdeen, Barrs, Brewdog, D.C. Thomson and many more.
Employers like People’s Postcode Lottery are helping to set the standard for business in Britain by making sure that workers have what they need to get by and we hope to see many more employers following their example.”
